FAQ

Q: Why does the console command IsDLLLoaded NVTF always report back >> 0?

A: Install the DirectX Libraries from here.

Q: Why is my game moving too fast?

A: Open Fallout New Vegas/Data/NVSE/plugins/NVTF.ini and make sure iMaxFPSTolerance is set to 300 (line 51). If that still doesn't fix it, verify that NVTF is actually working by using the console command IsDLLLoaded NVTF.

Q: Why didn't I get any DLC pop-ups/items after starting a new game?

A: Simple DLC Delay prevents the DLC pop-ups from showing until you reach the starting location for the DLC. JSawyer Ultimate Edition also moves the pre-order pack items to the following locations: Tribal Pack: Lucky Jim Mine House, Caravan Pack: Hell's Motel, Classic Pack: Wrecked Highwayman, Mercenary Pack: Bradley's Shack.

Q: When installing multiple mods from the same page through MO2, should I select Merge, Rename, or Replace?

A: Read the Mod Installation Advice section from the MO2 page.

Q: Mod Organizer 2 is reporting that mods in the left pane have overwritten loose files. Is this okay?

A: Yes, as long as your mods in the left pane of MO2 are in the exact order as they appear in the guide, these overwrites are intentional and safe.

Q: Mod Organizer 2 is reporting that there are files in my overwrite folder. Is this okay?

A: Yes, generally these files are harmless. They are usually files generated by mods (like configuration INI files) or by programs ran through MO2. These files will still be loaded fine in-game, and will be prioritized as if they are the last mod in the left pane of MO2. Usually, you can just leave these files in the overwrite and ignore the warning.

Q: Why do I get a Application Load Error 5:0000065434 message when I try to launch the game?

A: Run your game directly through Steam once. You may also need to restart Steam and/or Mod Organizer 2. If that still doesn't work, place a copy of your Steam.exe (a copy, not a shortcut) into the game's Root folder.

Q: Why do all distant objects look broken/use the wrong textures?

A: That means that something is overwriting the Vanilla LOD mod from the Visuals section in the left pane of MO2. The only mod in the guide that conflicts with it is Yukichigai Unofficial Patch, which should be loaded before Vanilla LOD and therefore not overwrite it. If YUP is overwriting the LOD, then your mod order (the left pane of MO2) is messed up. Go back through the guide and make sure the order of your mods in the left pane is the exact same as they appear in the guide. If it still happens with a proper mod order, then you installed a texture mod that is incompatible with the LOD (such as NMCs Texture Pack) and you need to uninstall Vanilla LOD.
